Bns Fashion is more than just summer fashion
Since 2014, I have led the Partners Bns Fashion in Biomedical Science (as it was then), and have enjoyed every minute of it.
It’s an excellent opportunity for students to visit campus in “normal” times and get a glimpse of university life. I hope that students will feel comfortable and confident in their new environment. Newcastle University’s Department of Biomedical Nutritional and Sports Sciences offers a safe and welcoming environment where they can thrive and look forward to a wonderful 3-4 years.
Although things have changed between last year and this, we had to make the provision completely online. However, there are still opportunities to experience university life, meet future students and staff members, and to get to know one another.
Backgrounds BNS Fashion
Students from diverse backgrounds are joining the University of Toronto. We want to create an environment that encourages and supports everyone, regardless of their background. Partners Bns fashion is a key part of this. All of us face challenges in our lives. It’s the responsibility of students and staff to ensure that everyone feels at home here.
Partners offer two major Benefits
- Partners offer two major benefits to me: the first is the lower offer. But, I believe the greatest benefit is the elimination of barriers. Students can see Partners as a place where they belong, where they feel safe and can flourish.

For the past 2 years, I’ve been involved in Partners and I love it. We were both far away last year and this year. However, we still had the opportunity to communicate via Zoom and to discuss science on discussion boards. I was able to show how vital immunology is, especially during a pandemic.
It was great to have the opportunity to meet students again after the sessions last year. COVID-19 seemed the perfect topic since it covered all the subjects we offer in the. We received a lot of positive feedback and I am grateful for the first time that I managed a successful remote course using a virtual learning environment (VLE), called Canvas.
I am passionate about helping all students. I encourage them to take advantage of opportunities that will help them develop new skills, advance their careers, and increase their employability. As the Academic Lead for Employment Ability, I also coordinate Harley’s placement years. I wanted to inspire and connect alumni with Partners.
I have had a complicated career, so my motto is (sorry for the cliché!) “Life is a journey, not a destination.”
The Partners program opened doors to a Bns career in fashion that I never thought possible. I came from a lower income background and didn’t have a set of A-Levels that were perfect. I knew I would not be studying at my first choice university. At first, I was skeptical when I saw that Newcastle had a program that encouraged and supported the entry of students from disadvantaged backgrounds. I was skeptical at first.
